Law enforcement in lawless times can often be a law unto itself. When officers of India’s premier investigative agency – the CBI – were recently forced to scale the walls of former finance and home minister P Chidambaram’s Delhi home, it was clear that through the entire case police was ready to climb the walls.
Far from being walled in or being up against a wall, police showed that when it came to VVIP arrests, it was more than capable of climbing the Great Wall of Jor Bagh.
