When love becomes anti-national then there’s no romance left in the body politic. Celebrating Valentine’s Day is a western anti-Bharat thing, suggest Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad. It’s better to worship parents on that day, they believe. But without love, would there be any mummys and daddys in the first place? If Valentine’s Day is “western” then so is the internet, so is the Bengali sandesh (made from cottage cheese brought by Portuguese traders) and the humble aloo originally grown in South America.
