“Commonwealth” is in the news. PM Modi recently visited London for a meeting of Commonwealth countries’ heads and India won a rich haul of medals at the Commonwealth Games. At the Games we saw a wealth of woman power, within India women still don’t have a wealth of opportunities. It’s still uncommon for women to get proper justice. Commonly held wisdom says health is wealth but as India’s growing wealthier, attitudes to women remain unhealthy. Many sportswomen won at the Commonwealth Games, but policy makers don’t have a wealth of wisdom on common women.
